Mmm, is better if you first learn some good anatomy and then compare with the studies.

Wow - you're really clarifying the anatomical relations of one muscle to another in my head. BETTER than Netter, I say!

It will! Netter is good - I used him when I first started out, but I found him to be too analytical - too static. It was hard for me to see how the muscles interacted.

ThatΒ΄s true, but remember that the Netter is an atlas of anatomy for medicine students. I mean, an artist can take advantage of the very accurate ilustrations of the bones and muscles it has, but the analitical and schematic nature of the ilustrations are oriented to the medicine student, so he can understand what the texbook is talking about, and can apply it to dissections and, later, surgerys.

And I wholeheartedly agree with you - his work wasn't meant to be an artistic tool, necessarily. For me, it was a good start, but I had to use anatomy books more focused on the "artist" just because they worked better for me. Not in any way taking anything from Netter, by any means. I have a full set of his books and they are downright amazing.

ItΒ΄s good to know that someone who is not a med student or doctor apreciate his work! I own him a good part of my knowledges in anatomy.
