Description
An old pic of some Imperial Guard I have. I made the lascannon out of some spare bits and a diecast bulldozer I bought from a dollar store.Related content

Is this a cross of Flames of War, Cadians and other minis?

Cadian legs, Bolt Action USMC torsos, arms and heads, and Krieg lasguns. The accessories are a mix of 40K and Bolt Action.

Nice.
That must have cost quite a bit.

I got the Cadians used from a friend, and the USMC are pretty cheap for what you get.

Cool. Hope it was in dollars and not pounds.

Let me guess, the Katayans are your own creation for Warhammer, and the IG of this planet uses uniforms similar to the American Marines in the Pacific during World War 2?

So do these guys specialize in island-hopping/seaborne warfare?

Jungle warfare. Kinda like discount Catachans.

I've always thought of the Catachans as the Vietnam-era US soldiers of the Imperium, so it's kinda cool seeing these guys as WW2-based counterpart to them.

Yeah. I'm also thinking of giving the Katayans a streak of religious fanaticism that is actually remarkable even for the Imperium, with the system under strong Ecclesiarchy control. I'm somewhat basing the Katayans on the Philippines (Katayan is Tagalog for "slaughterhouse"), and the Philippines is a deeply Catholic country.

Yes, specifically the United States Pacific forces.

Hmm. I don't see any flak armor, though then again, so does the Catachan Jungle Fighters.
Also, out of curiosity, are you going to make a Warhammer 40,000 timeline? Seeing how grimdark the setting already is, I'm interested on how you could make it even more hopeless and grimdark.

They're an undersupplied regiment. There's more on them in my 40K gallery.
I do have a personal take on 40K planned, but it will be a oneshot.

The IG are older, I bought them used from a friend, but the heads and torsos are Warlord Games US Marines.
