This map seems very realistic to me.Β The Restored States of America is a conservative country.Β Conservatism is connected to rural areas while liberal areas (Atlantic Fed, Four Corers, Cali, Cascadia) are connected to cities (via population density). ( medium.com/@davetroy/is-populaβ¦)Β Β Β By 2050, cities will cover every area but the upper west (where the Restored States is.) which remains the least urban place in America and will remain rural at this time. ( brilliantmaps.com/usa-mega-regβ¦)Β So it makes sense that as the megalopolises of the South and North unite, Southern Conservatism dies and they unite into an metropolitan Atlantic Federation.Β The megalopolis of the Four Corners sadly becomes part of a technocracy. (I know the lore.) While those of California and Nevada predictably become part of a Socialist Wall-E robo-mom state and that of Cascadia is probably as environmentalist as ever.Β Β Β
That leaves the rural upper west as the last Conservative stronghold and home of the Conservative minded, tech suspicious, former US loving, rural, "Restored" States of America once a collapse like this happens, as it is possible in our current environment.Β
