Description This is why you send unmanned probes first, and hope they come back normal.Β

EDIT: Added a significant slice for virgin Earths.

if there are parallel universes, wouldn't that mean there are infinite good and infinite bad universes, or am I big stupid?

Yes, this is meant to be a chart of observed universes.

Oh good, so 71% of the multiverse is good and dandy.

Maybe 71-79% depending on how benevelont the conquerers are.

Yes.

Yesss.
Do have map connected to the Foundation ?

RvBOMally In reply to Unb3kann1 [2018-01-19 23:43:26 +0000 UTC]

No. The SCP canon is convoluted such that designing a map based on it would be an exercise in futility.Β

Dang. But would you do a map, inspired by it, mean not 100% Accurate (Though you could just say it is another timeline, i mean Site-13 Style). Or -J map.

Vivere Militare Est is inspired by it in part.

So... Where would the VME universe be on that chart? Eldritch Abomination/Hell seems right, but then again the Bad Stuff there isn't quite active enough that all mortal life is impossible/made of unimaginable suffering/a buffet yet, so Dystopian or Somewhere Decent MAY be possibilities too...

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RvBOMally In reply to paireon [2017-07-12 06:18:44 +0000 UTC]

It would probably be classified as Eldritch Abomination.Β

paireon In reply to RvBOMally [2017-07-14 14:02:04 +0000 UTC]

Huh. Good to know. Wouldn't want to go there in any case (places where Fascism, Stalinism and Imperial Japanese Militarism are still viable ideologies give me the hives, never mind the fact that pretty much everything preternatural/supernatural is by its fundamental nature Bad Mojo there).

If the multiverse was real, it wouldn't surprise me at all if this chart was more or less accurate with the real deal. Sheesh, I'm suchΒ a pessimist.

I know you are cranking through the various worlds, but hopefully an Eldritch Abomination/Hell map is on the horizon, however far that may be. Love the work so farΒ Β

PinkJenkin [2017-01-11 08:54:51 +0000 UTC]

Nice! I'm always interested in the bullshit physics of multiverse settings, do you have any such manure to spill? What kind of multiverse is this, Linde's chaotic inflationary continuum, Everett's universal wavefunction, or something else? And what kind of technology enables transversal travel?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RvBOMally In reply to PinkJenkin [2017-01-11 17:38:02 +0000 UTC]

I like to keep things like that vague and confusing, because I find that the most realistic approach, and it gives me the most to work with creatively.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PinkJenkin In reply to RvBOMally [2017-01-11 18:38:23 +0000 UTC]

I prefer to make up a bunch of explanations fitting all the facts and having different characters or factions believe in them 100%. Techno/magicobabble is fun, the finality of permanently closed doors is not.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RvBOMally In reply to PinkJenkin [2017-01-11 18:40:22 +0000 UTC]

I have dropped hints about how things work whenever the multiverse is directly involved. You'll just have to piece them together from my past writing.Β

Is this chart in regards to alternate Earths relative to their universe? Otherwise that seems like a lot of instances of sentient-induced Armageddon going on if they aren't in the Hell section.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RvBOMally In reply to MrImperatorRoma [2017-01-11 02:11:00 +0000 UTC]

RvBOMally In reply to MetalSlimeHunt [2017-01-11 01:36:50 +0000 UTC]

Void. The probes don't come back.Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MetalSlimeHunt In reply to RvBOMally [2017-01-11 08:57:40 +0000 UTC]

Makes sense. Still amazed that there are so many weirdos who try and conquer the multiverse, I mean really, what if you conquer a world that looks normal but all the people there are actually just the hollowed out wriggling appendages of some cosmic horror playing dress up?

We're probably the most rational reality out there. Alright, no response, set the next probe and generate a random dial!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Mattystereo [2017-01-11 01:28:11 +0000 UTC]

I imagine empty void also includes universes that operate on different physics from ours, such as one in which electrons are too energetic to allow for anything other than covalent and metallic bonding and so atoms and even potentially life, of a sort, could exist, but humans would basically crumple to dust after a second or two.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RvBOMally In reply to Mattystereo [2017-01-11 01:36:59 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, in that case, the probe won't come back.
