People of the United States, I have grave news for all of you. President Jack Miller, our dearly beloved leader, passed away in Charity Hospital just under an hour ago. It is our duty as a people to mourn his death. His family has my condolences.

How has it come to this, America? The president’s death is but the most exemplary crisis among crises that plague our times. The plague of chaos and disorder, of treason and violence. This august nation has stood for nearly two centuries as a beacon of hope, justice and freedom. Just two decades ago we were at the top of the world. We defeated the most powerful empire the world has ever known and taken its place. We were invincible! Foreign nations trembled at our might, fearing that the mailed fist of American blood and iron would sweep over them in a bath of cleansing flame!

But now the corrupt bureaucrats of Berlin and Moscow laugh at us! The colonies we gained by the right of Manifest Destiny are trying to tear themselves from us! And worse yet, in our streets the youth of our nation, led by diabolical, drug-addled demagogues, threaten a violent overthrow of the nation our fathers and grandfathers died to defend! Let us not forget, my fellow Americans, that a century ago the war against the treasonous Confederacy became a guerilla war that seemingly had no end. It may be hard to swallow, but these are the truths of our time. Do we want the events of a century past to repeat themselves? Do we want our sons and daughters to follow the dirty, unwashed hordes collecting in our streets at this very instant? Would our Founding Fathers want to see their country burn?

I have already taken action to restore peace and security to the country. To restore order to the streets, a curfew has been enacted. Contact your local law enforcement agency for details. The National Guard and OSS are working together with local police forces to enforce this new statute, and enforce it they will.

President Miller’s assassins, no doubt drug-abusing communist sympathizers, are being hunted down by the OSS as we speak. They hoped to bring America to its knees, to ruin us for eternity, but we are a strong and resolute people! We will stand firm! The communists and dissidents plaguing this nation will be hunted down! Any who collaborate with these agents are traitors and will suffer the same fate!

Lastly, but not least, is the issue of political reform. There are those among us who would like to see America die a slow and painful death. Some of them have infiltrated our government. I have a list of five hundred and three federal and state officials who are taking their marching orders from either Berlin or Moscow. These men will be persecuted to the greatest extent of the law. Their treason will not go unpunished.

But as to how these agents managed to worm their way into the highest levels of government, unfortunately we have only ourselves to blame. Democracy has served our nation well throughout the centuries, but its ineffectiveness in the face of our times is self-evident. It fosters division when we need unity, chaos when we need order. Whatever semblance of order our old Constitution provided is gone, nothing but a memory. The democratic system has allowed the scourge of communism to taint the hallowed ground of Washington! What this nation needs is a new order! Say it with me, my fellow Americans! What we need is a new order!

In the face of our nation’s new trials and tribulations, our old republic shall be reorganized into the American Empire! One people and one nation united under one supreme leader chosen for life! A new constitution shall be drafted which shall reflect the ideals of unity, purity and faith that we all hold dear to our hearts! From the new throne in Washington, I shall work to defend every American! Let no American fight against any other American. Let no citizen’s faith in our unity crumble! Our children and grandchildren will remember this day as the day America awakened and united as one people to take its rightful place as ruler of the world! Today is the beginning of a new order, an order which I assure you will last a thousand years!
