I had a dream where the Martian communists from the 1908 Russian sci-fi novel Red Star invaded the Earth during the Cold War and NATO had to form X-COM to fight the Soviet-Martian Pact. Also I think they were shape-shifting squid-insects or something. I think X-COM launched a counter-invasion of Mars ... if I ever make a map out of that, this would be a handy resource!

An interesting take on Mars that is not quite the same as the other worlda version we have. Is this version of Mars more "accurate" as being pre-terraformed but still livable or something close to?
