Interesting crop that sets it apart from similar eyeball shots I've seen. It really creates a sense of dynamism in the absence of an obvious (subject matter) focal point.

Appreciated. I know what you mean. Eye photos are as cliched as drops of water and homeless people... but it just has to be done (especially since I kept looking at the requiem for a dream poster). Out of the shots I took, it just seemed slightly original to exclude the pupil and take a more 'abstract' crop. Glad you like it anyway

wow this is amazing. may i ask which kind of camera you use? my digital is.... of poor quality the least to say.... and i'm looking into buying another hopefully with a high zoom. this is just an awesome shot *drools* the detail is amazing

I use a Canon 300D (this taken with a 50mm and extension tubes). I only have the equivalent of about 3x zoom with my current lenses - its not too important in my opinion, unless you want to photograph wildlife.
