There's something very magical about this. When I first looked at the thumbnail I thought it was some sort of fairy or pixie.

I used a Canon 300D and a Canon 50/1.8 with a set of extension tubes.

Camera: Canon 300d
Lens: 50mm, f1.8
Extension tubes: Put them between the lens and camera to make the lens focus closer to the subject.

The animal in this picture is a variety of day moths, which usually will move less upon approach than a moth(I have had to literally tap some to get them to get off my door)
Note: Day moths are sometimes called butterflies due to the fact a butterfly is a moth.

Thanks for the information - that'll be why the other butterflies wouldnt let me get within a metre of them and this guy let me almost touch him with my lens .
