Lol, I love when people do these but never share or tell what brushes they used.

I've tried this tutorial and it looks like each of your brush strokes is brighter in the middle and fades out at the edges. Β I don't know how to get my brush to do that so my hair looks blocky and bad. Β Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You could try blurring the edges (do a full set of all of ryky's steps, then use a darker color to lightly blur the ends).
That's what I do.

A tablet with pressure sensitivity helps, as you can adjust the size and opacity of the brush using pressure.

Do you use pen pressure while doing this?
And which % does the opacity and flow have when you do this?
Other than that, I would love to try this out

Gotta experiment.
But what I used was a Hard round pressure opacity (Photoshop brush) with low opacity (9% to about 15%)

What colours would you use if the hair was white platinum?
π: 0 β©: 1
SkylordLoLz In reply to gracefuldemon [2013-06-26 16:16:13 +0000 UTC]
You would start with a dark grey and then lighten up the colours by each step
