Its been a couple of weeks since I started this but with my birthday and comic con past me I have finally found the time to finish this up.Anyways, predators was a pretty awesome movie. And as anyone who knows me well, knows I am something of a predator fanatic. I have a life size predator and a collection of alien and predator memorabilia that some would call... excessive. haha
But after seeing Predators I was re inspired to tackle these fantastic monsters. I was severely let down after the last two AvP movies which basically ran the alien and predator franchises through the mud, but this new Predators movie gives me hope that they are not dead. Its nothing drastically different, but its a fun ride for anyone who enjoyed the first Predator. I encourage you all to go see it at once. Or twice.
This is the main predator in the film, referred to as the Berzerker, as well as Mr. Black. For those of you who haven't seen it I will attempt to be spoiler free but he is not the same as the predator from the first film. I took pieces from reference and added my own flair to it. I wasn't entirely sold on the new face design so I drew him maintaining some of the "classic" predator charm. Hope you enjoy it, and I hope you check out the movie. Its the best action flick going this summer.

Yup. Life size predator. 7/1/2 feet tall. I got it from a sight called monstersinmotion.com. It is currently in three pieces in my parents attic. I'll have to dig but I'm sure I have some pictures of it.

Mine was much more modestly priced than that and I got it when they were doing a sale so I saved about $500.

I'm seriously considering buying a Predator mask.
That's cool that you got it cheaper though.
I don't know what I would do with a life-sized Predator thing (statue?), but I want one.
Although No matter where I put it, I would probably walk by it at night and scare the bejeezus out of myself.

Well figure the "classic" predator was basically able to palm Arnold's head and lift him off the ground. And Mr. Black is at least one or two heads taller than the "classic". Its close

There are always a few in the works. It takes quite a while to get all the detail into a finished piece like this though. I haven't made up my mind what I'm in the mood for right now. Dinosaurs or more aliens/predator stuff.

Can't say that I am. My AvP comic reading stopped back with the Deadliest of the Species... many many years ago. The art and stories haven't really blown my skirt up since that first crossover.

Can't say that I disagree. Deadliest of the Species was so sloppy anegin to find out where it begins falling apart.
However, this new piece, despite my earlier beliefs, is surprisingly interesting. Its essentially a continuation of 2 earlier stories, AvP War, and another more recent Predator comic. That one however, sucked and was so over the top. These new Predators however are markedly different from others seen. These have no honor ethic and are completely ruthless, sparing none. In addition to that, they found a way to control xenomorphs. Eventually, a war broke out between this clan and the ones we are more familiar with. It was believed the 'Killers' were wiped out, but this series shows that isn't the case. Machiko is back!

pretty cool idea. I may check it out. I always liked the idea of Machiko teaming up with the Preds. That first crossover story was amazing. And then whichever one was done by Chris Warner which was basically just a predator assault on a hive to capture the queen with Machiko was my fav!

This one has plenty of twists and lots of action that actually has purpose. These new Preds also have a lot more unique equipment. In the first showing, which sucked, they had lots of what looks like plasma carbines, a grenade launcher, and a rifle that looks suspiciously like a stolen human rifle. -_- That story sucked, and the title being simply 'Predator' keeps it from being distinguished from the movie, so I just call it 'Predator: Africa', since thats where it takes place. It also shows that Predators don't always get along... Plus, 'Killer' armor is friggen' awesome looking! Gunmetal black mixed with crimson red, often with samurai style additions.
