It's been a while since I've posted anything here so I thought I'd finally check in and say happy 2011 with a work in progress on my huge AvP piece. I haven't made as much progress as I'd like but any progress is still progress. Still barely a 1/4 of the way done so stay tuned. Here's hoping I can finish this before 2012. lol

Is this a female Predator? Seems rather slender for the big males...yes, I saw AvP and loved it. You've definitely caught something of the scene where the ancient Predators get overrun by aliens as well as the scenes inside the giant pyramid. It will be interesting to see if you can keep the dimensionality of the pic intact once all the detailing is done.
Over all, I like it and love the concept.

It is not a female predator, just a raging pissed off male. His hunting partner was captured by aliens and taken into this hive and impregnated with an alien. Upon discovering this on his rescue mission he kinda loses his sh!t and starts trying to take down the hive single handedly. Oooh... I don't know if we can be friends after your AvP comment. That movie was the nail in the coffin for the franchises, and one of the biggest travesties ever committed to film. The reason this predator looks skinny to you could be because they significantly changed the designs of the predators (for the worse) in that movie to make them hulking linebacker monsters. See any of the three stand alone predator movies and you'll see how their physique should be.

As for the other Predator films. Ain't seen them, so I cannot comment.

Well if you like silly with your serious stuff then check out Predator 2. It has a lot of humor in it which kinda pissed off some people who longed for the badassery of the first one. Predators feels much more like a true sequel to the first one and also introduces the "Super" predators. You may want to give that one a spin first!

i wish i could make more words come out. all that's coming out is God. DAMN!! lol. im sure the predator is saying the same thing seeing the swarm. i just love everything about this. the smallest details to the "Wip squiggles" around it. lol. just all "yeah im getting to this part eventually, hush" XD it's impressive you can get away with all the small line details without making everything look like dark mush. i keep going eee in my fangirl ways at the epic woosh dreadlocks the predator has going.

Haha thanks a lot! It makes it worth it when the slaving away with detail gets appreciated. I'm sure I could simplify but I'd know that every notch and scale isn't in there. Thanks for checking it out. Still much more to come
