I don't usually upload drawings from my sketchbook here, but I thought this one was detailed enough to warrant it.

Torque (born Temari) is as Astur, one of the 5 species of Esper*. Unlike most Espers, she is stuck in her Nate-form (a.k.a. "Beast form") and cannot switch to a humanoid form. She also has supernatural abilities of sublimation; she can turn solid objects around her into gas and vice-versa.

Both of these oddities were caused by her demonic blood. This has led to her being locked up into various facilities, far away from her family, while doctors and exorcists attempt to "cure" her. She also has very low self-esteem and believes that she in inherently evil and sinful, and she does very damaging things to herself in order to pay for those sins, like fasting (read: starving herself) and wrapping her limbs, torso and face with tight, constricting bandages, similar to but much more harmful than the ancient cilice.

She was originally nicknamed "Tourniquet" due to her strange habit with the bandages, but she shortened it to "Torque" after taking a liking to the mathematical term.

I have some more details of her backstory written down, but I need to polish those.
Thekittenfangirl described Torque as looking miserable but pretty. I like that description. Koneko-chan is practically a poet :3

*Info: Espers refer to 5 animal-like species of aliens. Asturs such as Torque are canine and feline Espers, while Nyrans such as Lumnie are bird-like Espers. They spend most of their lives in a humanoid form, but they can transform into a more powerful beast-like form, called the "Nate-form".

[EDIT] I have been informed that Torque looks very similar to Shanol 's drawings. The character itself is completely different, but I must admit that, by accident, the drawing ended up looking too much like his style. I have personally settled the matter with him, and I offer my sincere apologies for my mistake.
