In the rare instances where the Akurians make use of a Battlecarrier, it will usually find itself working in battleship squadrons, typically in operations that dont warrant the use of other carrier types, but where having a small escort or support carrier type would be too vulnerable compared to a battleship sized hull. These niche situations are of course very rare, and when a battlecarrier is deployed in this matter, its squadrons are usually used to reinforce and protect the recon craft that the regular battleships already use. They are not typically used as the main means of fending off strike craft attacks, as the battleships own long range anti fighter missiles are more than capable of doing that, and battlecarriers never carry strike craft of their own. However in most instances when a battleship units mission would require additional fighter support on a well protected platform, an armored carrier is the better choice.
