I still don't get how you simply draw, for example, the lantern itself with the mouse! Along wit drawing words with the mouse. It's so difficult for me.

I've painted a lantern in Photoshop, just with clickology (What will be, if I'll click this button...?). Then submitted that on DA and someone told me there's a tutorial with almost the same lamp.
I had to check it.
I found this one and I think that person told about you. Indeed - almost the same lamp.

the round one where the edges aren't sharp. you cannot specify where the edge ends

no. I mean- when you've got a standard set of brushes, the blurry ones starting from the 7th position
