I said I would submit a tutorial...Cuz i read to many comments looking like "dude how can you do that??" or "if only i knew how to make tribals..."
here it is ... i enjoyed very much doing this!!!

For a first attempt I suggest reptiles like a Lizard... it's curiously easier

I'm curious about how you work on tribals...

Well, that might actually be very dull... But... I just start drawing random swirls and stuff(the trible things) with pencil.
I just keep swirling and drawing untill I have the shape I want to create. Then I trace over the correct lines and get rid of the pencil with a rubber.
[link] this tribal was made in different steps.
First I drew the body(head + legs) and scanned it in.
I then flipped the image in photoshop so I have a perfect symmetric body. I then print it out again and I added the tail.
I scanned it in again and in photoshop I got rid of the white background and made the image all black with brightness/contrast switching.
The holes(eyes, body and tail) were cutted in with the shape-tool in photoshop, since perfect circles are win
