Hard? Oh, geezie, I hope not! It really doesn't take me a long time, but it does take getting used to. It's really not near as hard as it looks.
Once you get the hang of it, it gets really simple. But it takes quite a while to get perfect at it.

did you use a black pen to do the lineart or did you do the lineart in pencil? Which way looks better?

I kinda consider it two different things. The outline is in pen, but the fur itself is never done in pen. It looks terrible.
