heya ^^ first off neat tutorial, it shows the most important to color nicely, not too much side info and not to few to leave somehting out, really well done.
I have faber castell polychromos, theyΒ΄re good but the colors arenΒ΄t so glowy i wanted prismacolors for long already but theyΒ΄re not available in my country so i need to ship them here while shipping alone costs 30 dollars... i just wanted to ask you if these were the right ones [link]

how many colors do you use for one type of fur color, /shades, hilights midtones/ do you just use a few colors and press differently, or do you use more colors?

Depends on what I have at hand. Here, I used about five shades in the orange area because I had my huge prismacolor set. When I only have my bag of random colors, I will press harder and use many of my blues and purples.

Crayola is ok to practice with but horrible for actual pieces! It doesn't layer well cause it has hard lead. But that's how I learned. I raught myself and looked at other artists works.

yeah i cant afford the good prismacolor colored pencils at the moment so im just trying to find a good technique with crayola for now. I really only draw for fun but i want the pieces to at least be comment worthy

You can try derwent. They are pretty affordable. And you can always by a 24 set of prismacolor. If you have a Micheal's, use a coupon. lol
