This is really cool. Just out of curiosity, did you draw the sketch on paper and scan it in? Or did you draw it with a tablet?

Yeah, because he was able to draw like that day one. Practice, stop looking at the word "talent" as a rule or even worse, an excuse.

Come off the high horse. ;] I was making a joke, not an excuse. Just because I don't fill my DA with my art does not mean I don't have something of my own to work on. ty.

I had to use SAI to finish it off because the coloring with gradients on mine fills the whole image even with screens and Normals (I don't have an option for standard, so I figured it's the same thing). But it still worked quite well. Thank you. [link]

No, I don't think so. I think it should still work.
Here s small tutorial of the same thing I did for a friend.
1. )Open drawing/sketch in photoshop.
2.) After that make it black and white, (control+shit+U) for Windows or (command+shift+U) for Mac.
3.) Once it's black and white, mess with the levels of the drawing. (Control+L)for Windows or (command+L) for Mac. Try and only mess with the gray and and white arrows. Gray darkens the picture while white lighten it.
4.) Once you like it just hit enter and begin to clean it up using a white brush.
5.) After that make a new layer under your drawing/sketch. If you drawing/sketch is on the "background" layer, simply hit (control+A+control+X+control+V) for Windows or (command+A+command+X+command+V) for Mac to cut and paste the image into a new layer. Then make a new layer under that.
6.) Once you have a new layer go back to your drawing/sketch one and change the mode to "screen". Your drawing will disappear but don't worry it's okay! Also, try not to make my mistake and "screen" the blank layer. lol
7.) After that go back to your new and blank layer and full it with any gradient you like. and TADA!!!!! you are done. lol
8.) Also, it works any drawings that is black and white as well, just make sure that your drawing had a white background and not a transparent one.
