I have CS 2,
and I find when I use the Screen button,
my image doesn't disappear.
Is Photoshop different, do I need to
use a different set-up?

it really depends, the best way is to try all the layer format, maybe u'll even find a better looking effect ; )

ah i use SAI, and i couldnt find the gaussian blur or gradient tools for some reason >__<
but i found other ways to do it, and it turned out really pretty!

That looks a bit complicated but the beginning is very explanatory. Here is my question to you. Depending on the lighting, can u change the gradient angle or anything that can make a difference? Please specify. Thank you.

yes u can change the gradient angle , just try different ways ,different colours, etc .

I haven't used this tutorial yet, but I'm drawing all of the zodiac signs (as people) and my scanner hates me D: Not even my scanner can overcome the awesomeness of this tutorial!

need to ask, Tablet? If so what kind? What form of artistic soft ware?
And one last thing because I adore your art and need to figure out how to rock mine, in inking on a pressure pen does that mean the harder you press the thicker the line gets automatically?

for tablet, I recommend the Graphire mark , Introse is very good too .As for the program it'd be good if you use the same one shown in the tutorial (opencanvas 4.06)
and yes, pressure is when you press harder it makes the line thicker : )

-.- dammit I knew it, well let's say this, I have a genius tablet, it's nice and I recently got it for a good price, now it said on the website, tiger direct which is very trustable, that it hade pressure on it. It isn't showing any signs of that as far as I can see... A I doing something wrong...? Should I have set something up...? Or is it just evil?

did you install the tablet pressure : O ,usually it comes with a CD .oh if u have the Bamboo mark one, I heard it doesn't really have alot of pressure.In any case ,I'd be able to give you more information if I knew the tablet brand : )

my was a scanned sketch, but digital sketch will also work, just make sure to merge it down visible ,don't put it on a transparent layer : )
