What did you think of the fourth game?
Because my boyfriend practically had to force me to see things that weren't awful.

Honestly? I didn't like it. It disappointed me. It started off badly in my eyes, got slightly better and then crashed and burned with the last arc and ending. The lazy writing and innumerable plot holes still drives me insane. The character derailment saddens and/or sickens me. It feels like lost potential to me. They could have done so much more with the series, especially given the extra time that they had to work on it with multiple extensions made to the deadline/release date.
Also for people (Sanzaru) who claim to be fans of the original trilogy, they seem to have completely missed or overlooked many reasons why those games were fun.

I completely agree.
There were so many small nuances with the game play that distracted from the story; the controls were too smooth, the 'new' villains felt recycled (I mean hypnotizing your enemies. really.)
I did however love how they portrayed Tennese Kid Cooper and Rioichi Cooper, though at heart, I still feel they should have stayed legends of the Cooper family.
I read a comment you set elsewhere about the immaturity of the game itself; on top of that there was no challenge for me. Once I got over how the controls worked compared to the old games, nothing was hard. They had plenty of opportunities to step up the difficulty level.
My favorite (and the most prominent) example for me was the Get Fish For Rioichi's Sushi Restaurant mission. In the end Murray says something like "We should get back before the guards notice us". I thought "Oh cool, I love missions like this!" and then it just...... ended
I felt kind of hollow since then

See, I didn't like Rioichi and his whole level was something that was killing the game for me right off the bat. Tennessee got me back into it and made me think "Maybe this'll be okay after all" but no. Ultimately I was left very disappointed. =\
I didn't find the game very difficult either. Aside form that one bullshit motion control mini-game that I HATE.
Yeah, the first time I really noticed that parts of missions that would have been present in prior games were missing was in Rioichi's world too. The biggest dissapointment was the heist. Over half the things outlined in Bentley's plan happen off-screen, like knocking out the guards and kicking off the whole heist to begin with!

I also noticed that most of the pre-heist missions barely had anything to do with the heist at all
I mean, in the other games all of the missions had to do with preparing for the heist!
All in all, I just think Sanzaru has made a mediocre game that is a separate entity from Sly 1-3.
I guess I'm just glad that Kevin Miller still is the voice of Sly :'I
Also why did they put Dimitri in the game IF HE DOES NOTHING

Some of the were reconnaissance, but after they rescued the ancestors the missions seemed a bit disconnected.
Dmitri didn't have a single line in-game. All his lines were said by other characters. =\ I thought the game was gonna be more complex, like it was with Sly 3. Having all these different characters that did different things. But, no. We got a bunch of re-Skinned Sly's for the most part who barely played differently.

However, to me it has worked much better thinking of it this way: It's a really fun game on its own, just not as a sequel to the Sly Saga.

That's because aside from Murray, pretty much all of the characters were out of character most of the time. =\ I'm trying to stick with what I know and love and approach the situation from how the characters originally would have instead of how their counterparts in TiT did.

I think I get how you feel. I think I stopped writing when I started working myself, and now I've been trying to get back into the habit.

I find I go back an forth creatively between writing and drawing. When I'm doing one I'm not doing the other. Best advice I can possibly give is just to do it. The rhythm will come after you've been at it for a while.

We all need it, but I find that I still work without it more than I spend actually getting it. Like 5 hours max most days.
I myself have a comic, well rather a manga, I've been wanting to do for some time. But I don't have any drawing skills, and I still need to put together notes for it, which I am SUPREMELY glad I started doing. Actually makes so my head feels empty somewhat. It's a nice feeling to have.
I think I've also started getting wordy again. Good signs...
Anyway, any advice for finding a good artist and how to get their interest? Minus hiring of course...

There are some groups and communities on DA that are made for matching up writers with artists for creating comics. I'd peruse them and the forums to see if you can find a partner.
