Blue blue blue blue blue.... I should have called this comic TOO MUCH BLUE.
Had a heckuva week, which sadly meant I wasn't able to work on this page a lot, even when I tried to. Which is why it's late. I'm also working on other things at the moment Other drawings, one-off comics and a prize from a contest. And I bought Animal Crossing New Leaf this weekend.
I'm of the opinion that if Sly had/did join[ed] Interpol he wouldn't function well there for very long. He's not used to playing by the rules and would probably view the law as more of a hindrance than an asset to apprehending and taking down criminals.

Finally, someone points this out.
I mean, at the end of Sly 3, all Sly did was pretend he didn't remember anything.
but, it was Carmelita that told him a completely bogus story of him being a Constable.
So, Carmelita did MOST of the lying between the two.

All that really matters is that she 'thought' it was all real, and took advantage of it.
Which ironically, wouldn't be all that different from what the Contessa did to other people in Sly 2.

I could totally see Sly becoming frustrated with the red tape and politics surrounding official police work. So, while I still think Sanzaru was wrong to have him gleefully jump back into robbing museums, I don't think it's unreasonable to assume he wouldn't last long in a law enforcement job.

In regards to him doing police-work, instead of gleefully jumping back in to thievery I imagined him having "slip ups." He takes short cuts, or does something he knows he can get away with and still pull off as lawful. It would be more "adult" than him just completely jumping the rails like he's having a mid-life-crisis when in actuality it's only been a couple of years.

Yeah. I could see him, say, breaking the warrant rules to save a hostage or something. Or using legal loopholes to catch a scumbag. Hell, Sly 4 missed a great opportunity to have him reluctantly rob that museum because he NEEDED that first artifact only to slowly fall back in love with thievery as the game progressed (which would have given Carmelita a more legit reason to be bitchy toward him).
Oh well. That's what fan-artists like us are for! LOL

I'm sorry things were so hectic for you this past week, but at least you had some other things to take the edge off. Besides, I know what it's like, sometimes--needing to do something else for a while, to give your creative spark time to re-charge.
And this pic was worth the wait. Sly finally revealing to Carmelita just how long the line goes, how he really DID try to play by the rules for her sake, and the way it was grinding on his nerves. Granted, he should've have the sense to tell her all this BEFORE he went ont he museum heist, but hindsight is 20/20, isn't it?
And yes, there IS a lot of blue in this comic. But as they're in the Ice Age, that's to be expected, I think. XD

It kinda keeps getting worse. The City I'm living in - Calgary, Alberta - and the surrounding area is flooded now. The entire downtown core is shut down and under water and over 100,000 people have been displaced A couple of towns are just... Gone. I'm not in the affected area, living and working away from the rivers, but the place is still a bit crazy right now. People are hoarding food and water, Transit is down for the most part, People are being told to stay in their homes if they're outside the affected areas. It's scary stuff.
That it is. Now we just have to see what she thinks of all this.
I know, but I just didn't realize how much. Also, in my initial planning stages there were more transition panels that were of varying colours, but that went down the drain because it messed with the flow, so here we are with BLUE. Gah, such a depressing colour in huge amounts.
