4th step: Dark layer for shadow and radiosity effects.
Is it advisable to just use light bake (render to texture) than paint the shadows?

a) you are awesome in 3D and textures
b) it sooo depends on the textures~ you can do anything so lowpoly with good done textures
inspired me, to do something 3D with textures again
