Description
Baldwin narrow gauge C-19 2-8-0 Consolidation #346, of D&RGW heritage, simmers in the late sun of a December afternoon.Minutes after this picture, the locomotive found itself in a battle against gravity and traction and provided an impressive display of wheelslip, starting uphill with a full load of varnish.

If I remember correctly, RGS/C&S #74 (30) had a Bear trap spark arrestor. THey say they built it for #30 in 1982 when she was first put on display. It was briefly used in #346 and then placed on C&S #9.

How dimensionally similar to 191 is that machine? She's got D-valves, and looks like similar driving wheels, pilot wheels diameter, etc. I am wondering about dimensional similarities for possible parts interchanges/remanufactures, stuff like that.

191 is a different class of C-something but its only a year older than 346. Both are built by Baldwin so I'd think there's a good deal of similarity. #346 was rebuilt by C&S/CB&Q at one point so there's likely some further physical differences.
