Wow, I really like this! The contrast of textures between the plants and rail look awesome. Kinda gives hope too, knowing that in a small part of the world nature is fighting back against man....even if it is just the weeds

we should go around Melbourne, pull up all the disused rail, cash it in
Then rebuild the railway in a cheaper smaller gauge... then everybody wins.

No no no no no!!
We must pull up Sydney's public transport system rails, move all the rails down here, dig (with our hands) a nice big tunnel going this way and that, and build a second train network UNDERGROUND that we will somehow link up to the current system and random points (like East Richmond or Williamstown station cos no one goes there)!!
..oh and rather than the commuter paying for using this system, we charge the government and connex absurd amounts and see how they like it.
And then, and only then will we have a decent public rail system.

NO NOT THE UNDERGROUND PLAN!!! thats way too easy!!! lol, you have to think narrow minded about these things because thats how the big people look at it... LOL... they can't see the big and little pictures.

But add extra tracks in the heavy metro area eg... and underground lines under the current tracks to add capacity to the bottleneck areas that we ALREADY HAVE! and add an exrta 2 platforms at North Melbourne - which is so easy to do.

GOOD GOD!! Is this actually possible these days? I know the Alamein extension COULD be possible if they removed a bike path (that follows the old line) then split a golf course and somehow made it to the other side of the monash freeway, but then there are houses where the old line used to run so it would have to go underground..
Extension of the Glen Waverley line would need to be underground, and it could still be feasible to have a line following the East Link tollway, potentially linking Ringwood, Wantirna South, Nobal Park all the way to Frankston. And from Knox there you could link up to Ferntree Gully!!!
The possibilities are endless, and we desperately need more railway lines.. Sometimes the government can be total arsewipes..
