Description
This is a guide on one way to make textures.Written for Photoshop CS, but shoud be translatable to most programs.
Feel free to ask any questions.

Hello. I was wondering if you could help me understand something. In your step 2 you say to create a new layer and render clouds. But when I create a new layer then go to Filter>Render it will not let me select it. It's not "highlighted" if you know what I mean.
This happens to me all the time. The only time all of the filter options are available to click on is when I open a new image. Once I create a layer on it, I cannot access all filters.

Just keep in mind that some brush creators do not want their brushes used in textures or anything of the like.
