Description This is a piece done for my major individual project for uni- an artisitc and aesthetic makeover for the original Quake, based heavily on H. P. Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos.

This is the Vore, my favourite creature from the original game (provided im not actually playing the game- then i hate them!).

Unlike some other creatures, i wanted to keep the Vore very similar to its original design- it is one of the marquee creatures everyone remembers. In terms of redesign, it was mainly trying to work out the musculature of the creature. I made its body gaunt and hunched, with extra-long and thin arms to imply some sort of physical weakness. In terms of face, it still doesnt have one, and i based its head design on that of deep-sea fish. The creature is meant to evoke a sense of horror, and truly give sense that it came from some other dimension.

Very cool Vore!
Yeah I hated them in game. Quake 1 is still one of my all time fav games, lovecraft/horror/scifi/fantasy and space marines XD

I was happy to see Ranger in quake 3
