Description ..and an other attempt on a walk cycles..

now please, people.. try to think a little bit before leaving a comment.. i know there is still a lot wrong with the animation.. the walk still is very slippery, and it feels very rigid.. i know that.. so please dont tell me the obvious.. i think everybody knows what and how a walk cycles should look like and that includes me too.. the problem here is projecting the movement on the model itself.. please realize there is huge difference between knowing theoretically how it works, and actually making it..

i know physics arent working either.. im just not trying to get that working yet, so there is no hair movement, no boob bouncing and so on.. i need to get a good understanding about body movement first before i can start doing physics on the body too..

now i dont say that you cant leave a critic, i actually appreciate it when you do, but if you do then please be sure you know what you are talking about and dont state the obvious.. this is all about learning and experimenting, and no one ever learned anything from the obvious and/or nonsense.. thank you..

It's certainly becoming a bit more dynamic, but it seems that you're slightly overdoing it.
Keep at it!
(I love that you've gotten into animation)

Amazing, the only thing to make it perfect is to give the hands a little movement too.

WOW! What an improvement! Try adding a little bit of slack and movement on the shoulders, they seem a bit tense.

I'm sorry, I was reading along just fine and then I got distracted by this ass walking away from me ...

Anyway, huge improvement really. I think she still have maybe a little too much swing to her hips, but that may be just personal taste.

haha.. i actually like the hip swing.. its not how we would walk on the street but for a catwalk its really nice i think..

This is starting to look good now Saphy ! The previous walks all looked reasonably good from one angle, but 'off' from others. This one looks as good from all 3 angles. I was concentrating on her from the hips down - where most of the movement is. I think it is a good plan to try it with her barefoot first and get that looking right, then making the changes for wearing heels (cos I won't lie, I'm reaaaaallly looking forward to that ).

You are getting better, don't let anyone tell you different. I'm loath to say anything negative, because I'm amazed at everything you do, could never do it myself. I'm guessing the (very slight) pauses her hands make at the limits of their travel would take a bit of fine tuning for fluidity. Not sure if it's the colour of the floor, but I reckon there is a bit of an optical illusion going on with her feet and how they move on the ground between steps that throws the 'look' off a bit too.

Hope those comments help you, cos that's how they're intended .

Keep up the amazing work hon.

hehe.. yeah she is leaving footsteps behind.. its actually a render problem.. i didnt setup the GI setup correctly.

the whole thing is still far from perfect but slowly but surely its getting better.. i kinda like the hip sway now, so i need to work on from that now...

Hey, you are improving on it. I am sure most of us that watch you don't have a single clue of where to begin. I personally have always been impressed with your work.

She's walking pretty flat footed. Maybe give her some heels and most of the problems will work themselves out.

SaphireNishi In reply to Chingafakes [2013-02-13 21:16:14 +0000 UTC]

well i need to learn both.. so i keeping switch between flat footed and walking on high heels.. just take a lot at my previous attempts..

A female walk is one of the hardest things to model - you have most of the elements correct and just need a few tweeks. Feet are marvelous
The only thing I would add is the slight body rise and fall - unless she's meant to be on the catwalk and stays level all the time
I couldn't come close - so hats off to your technique!

SaphireNishi In reply to ipooper [2013-02-13 21:15:11 +0000 UTC]

thank you.. its actually what im trying to achieve, that up and down effect.. but the problem is projecting it onto the model without it looking really weird..

Definitely an improvement on the last one. As everyone else has said it still isn't perfect but that is definitely walk when the last one was more of a waddle so progress is being made.

You really have improved a lot! I have no idea of animation, but as I have understood you want a really elegant walk, and I think it looks more elegant when the feet are slightly pointed inwards. Just a suggestion You are really talented!

yeah its all about practicing and more practicing.. i just have to know how and when body parts move and i figure that pratically there already.. hard part is understanding how a walk cycle actually works..

phraught In reply to ??? [2013-02-13 08:11:27 +0000 UTC]

There is a glitch in the left arm in particular that draws the eye. I believe it is coming too far inward, and the front part of the swing is too fast relative to the back part of the swing. The discontinuity in the arm movement at the front of the swing seems to me to be what is drawing the eye to it.

I agree w/EvilKingGumby about the pacing.

But *really* nice! Been very much enjoying the progression.

Indeed, when we want to help, sometimes we say stupid things.. Honestly I almost write something like that on your last test.. There really is a significant improvement on the rolling of hips and contraction of the buttocks. It starts to be exciting stuff. There's just something where you're planted royally. Stockings leave stains on the floor... Saphyyy !!! this is dyeing !!! HAHAHA !!! ...exchange supplier. He's a hustler.
