this is close to what I'm looking for. Everyone designs elemental relations on a 2D plane, but it works so much better on a 3D plane...only problem is it's not as easy to design...I was trying to make it expand in a branching formation

Sounds difficult to achieve.

I know, but I want to challenge myself to make what I interpret as the perfect model of elemental relationship.

no matter how you try, you just can't add too many things before you have to start with questionable "elements." when we start thinking in terms of adding elements together like air and fire to make things like lightning or water and earth to make clay or mud you start to get to a point where you have to ask what the point of it is and whether or not it makes sense and if it's going to actually be used. I don't think it's that valuable as an intellectual exercise (although fun) to get to far out from basic elements. My opinion, of course.

the art design, however, is awesome.

That's one cool looking elemental planar/magic system. It's impressive how you've managed to fit it all in and it's still understandable. The associations between the elements seem to be pretty well thought out too. Nice work.

I feel like "ooze" shouldnt be an element... I feel like maybe "bile" would soubnd better and serve the same purpose, but I will never be sure.

Some have suggested replacing ooze with wood.

also shouldnt dust, and steam be the positive and negative forms of the neutral smoke?
and how is ash different from dust?

Ash is leftover from fire. Dust is tiny flakes off of earth or other stuff.
