So I Heard You Liked Humanized Ponies: Part One
I had a massive art slump a couple of weeks ago, and I thought humanizing a bunch of ponies would help. It did, but it was not the fast project I thought it would be. Granted, I thought I only had 20-30 characters in the file, not…52. 52. What was I thinking?
Anyways, I did these in my looser style, so I know there are mistakes. I mostly focused on shape variety, and keeping them cute without turning them into Ariel clones. I don’t think I completely succeeded, but I do like the way they turned out, and I did have a lot of fun!
These are four of the eight rows I had. I’m working on the last half this weekend. Here are the character coming up next:
-Row 5: Sapphire Shores, Octavia, Gilda, Flim-Flam Bros, Big McLarge Huge
-Row 6: Big Macintosh, Granny Smith, Fancy Pants & wife(?) (not sure what her fanon name is!), Spa Twins
-Row 7: Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Shining Amour, Princess Cadance, Prince Blueblood, Zecora
-Annnd some portraits of the Mane Six that I’m probably going to finish + post tonight, since they’re fairly simple.

I ended up writing a short rant about those who seem to think MLP humanized means they should all be white (except the zebras)
MLP Fans are you Kidding MeD-do people really have a problem with it when DA artists draw the My Little Pony:FiM characters as black humans?
A-are you kidding me?
Because what, they don't "sound" black on the show?
Literally I just came across the comment that the only black characters would be zebras because Zebras = African and ponies = European, and because the ponies are bright colors and sound white they can't be black.
....what ok so you're saying that no black people live anywhere outside of Africa.
....and that black people have to sound a specific way...which is what way, exactly? ghetto? hood? voodoo-voice?
....and that bright colors translate to white and what colors are you leaving for dark individuals, exactly? greyscale?
Do you NOT realize how racist that is? That's the same thing as telling someone that the Lion King characters, humanized, "have" to be white (which makes even LESS sense, mind you).
So literally what you are saying, is that a bunch of RAINBOW ponies, who LI because I keep seeing comments on images like yours that are just so friggin offensive cries.

I did realize something when you said something about not saying anything about the colorful ponies being white.I remembered something that lauren faust once said .appearantly she was fighting with a lady on the internet.the lady said that the dark and grey poies were the black people ruled over by the white person(celestia).mrs faust said that the ponies color in the show didn't make them black or white.for example i see twilight as an asian while you see her as black.so someone could make her an albino ad say hey look i drew twilight sparkle

Considering Fluttershy was a supermodel, I doubt she'd be so chubby, but maybe she gained some weight in season 2.

I really like the shape/race/color/everything variety. I love it when people can make different designs for the humanizations, and these I particularly like!
Although some of these actually contradict what I had in mind for my very own humanizations (Fluttershy is, to me, really tall and slender, and Vinyl is DEADLY pale), the way you pull them off is just really convincing. I really, really like the overall style and colors, too!
Okay, now that I commented here, this goes to favorites and I´ll go drop my opinion on the second part. I don´t think it´ll be too different form the one on this part, though. Awesome job!

but hey, that's just headcanon
