So I Heard You Liked Humanized Ponies: Part One
I had a massive art slump a couple of weeks ago, and I thought humanizing a bunch of ponies would help. It did, but it was not the fast project I thought it would be. Granted, I thought I only had 20-30 characters in the file, not…52. 52. What was I thinking?
Anyways, I did these in my looser style, so I know there are mistakes. I mostly focused on shape variety, and keeping them cute without turning them into Ariel clones. I don’t think I completely succeeded, but I do like the way they turned out, and I did have a lot of fun!
These are four of the eight rows I had. I’m working on the last half this weekend. Here are the character coming up next:
-Row 5: Sapphire Shores, Octavia, Gilda, Flim-Flam Bros, Big McLarge Huge
-Row 6: Big Macintosh, Granny Smith, Fancy Pants & wife(?) (not sure what her fanon name is!), Spa Twins
-Row 7: Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, Shining Amour, Princess Cadance, Prince Blueblood, Zecora
-Annnd some portraits of the Mane Six that I’m probably going to finish + post tonight, since they’re fairly simple.

I can't help but love this. The variety is amazing. The different body types and skin colors. I love that Fluttershy is soft and cuddly ample in a perfect nurturing way. I think I really like the idea of RD being tan. I think I'll start drawing her like that, too. Seems appropriate.

Fluttershy is definitely my favorite of the set. Her body type is the same as mine, and she just looks so pretty it gives me warm snugglies about my size, too.

YES! I was looking for this one! It sadly came to my notice at prejudiceismagic.tumblr, which lists insane racism (and other discrimination) among rabid bronies. It's always like that; I scroll through my Dashboard, see a picture of my liking and than see the uploader is prejudiceismagic. Always makes me sad because it means it probably has awful comments. ;_;
I lolled at humanised Hoity Toity, because he's based on a human; Karl Lagerfeld. So a ponified human becomes humanised. He and the major looks a lot alike!
Let's see, my fave are Daisy (beautiful colours!), Photo Finish (Love the body and pose), SilverSpoon (sweet clothing and colours), Cheerilee- ok I really have too many I like very very much. I really love you made difference in height, weight/body-type and skin tones. I look forward to part 2.

I follow Prejudice is Magic! Actually, I was surprised it took two days for it to get on there.
I actually considered just drawing Karl Lagerfeld, but I decided that would be the lazy route.

Anyways I love the diverse skin tones and body shapes, it makes it look much more like the real world. The poses are great and fit their personalities too. My favourite has to be Twist

I think these look fantastic! I love the variety of body types you gave everyone, and the skin colours. It makes them look more real to me. 
My personal preference is for some of the ponies to be darker-skinned - it looks way more interesting and the colour combinations are more striking. Like with your Twilight - I think that pink shirt looks beautiful with her darker skin.

Thank you! Personally, I feel a variety of races is truer to the show's main themes of love, tolerance, and acceptance- besides, the ponies in the show have WAAAAY more varieties of skin color than humans.
Also, since I started this project as a way to focus on character variety, it didn't make sense to make them all white.

Not exactly! Lauren Faust posted in a Q&A session that the Mane Six were originally going to have different body types, but the budget for the animation nixed that idea. Besides, they're human versions of candy-colored ponies- there's no 'right' version, just different interpretations.
