'Why me?' you wondered. You tried to blink the spots out of your vision, but soon realised that they weren't going anywhere.

You'd had a tough...you didn't know how long. You were delirious from lack of sleep, even though you'd spent the past few hours drifting in and out of unconsciousness. That and the blood loss. You were surprised you had any left because it was all on the carpet around you, most of it soaked in and dried since it had been there a few days.

You managed to look over to the door and saw the pool in the living room of the apartment, a dry brown stain on the carpet, all that remained of your boyfriend since your captor had taken the body somewhere.

You looked away quickly, shuddering as you got a flashback of watching the blood pool there on the carpet.

"Really (name), you should know not to dwell on memories like that by now" the voice behind you taunted.

"And what memories should I dwell on?" you snapped back at you captor. His dagger was drawn down your side as an answer and you cringed, trying to hide the pain.

"You know which memories I am referring to dear" he whispered in your ear, making you shudder and in turn, making him chuckle.

A knock on the door made you look back up, you could hear shouting from the other side before it came crashing off it's hinges. Your captor had vanished by the time the door fell, leaving you lying on the bedroom floor bound, bruised and bleeding.

But most importantly, alone.

You heard the officers shouting your name as you drifted into unconsciousness once again. You briefly wondered whether you would wake up again, and if that would be good or bad.

You woke up several hours later, in a hospital-style bed, but not in the hospital if the weird metal walls around you were anything to go by. The metal door swung open and you cringed away from it, but relaxed ever so slightly when a man in a black suit walked in.

"Hello (Name), my name is Phil Coulson from SHIELD. I understand that you've only just woken up, but I'd like to ask you some questions, is that okay?" he asked. You nodded quickly, wincing as it hurt your neck. You quickly raised a shaking hand to the wounds there to check they weren't bleeding. Thankfully they weren't, so you looked back to Phil.

"What do you know about the man who attacked you?"

"I remember he started the invasion in New York a few years ago" You croaked. You took a sip from the bottle of water Phil handed you before you tried to speak again. "I now know that he's the serial killer going around New York, other than that, I only know what a cruel bastard he is"

"I can't say I disagree with you there" Phil told you. "Did he tell you who he was or why he was killing?"

"He didn't really say much. He only told me something I could have guessed at"

"And what was that?"

"That he was Loki of Asgard and that he wanted revenge"
