Description
Wow, this is a horrific photo. I'll try to take a picture with my manual camera whenever my teacher ( [link] ) hands it back to me.As an added note: My city transit bus driver, the one I give cookies to, who has never seen my artwork, liked this drawing a lot : ) which makes it all worth it. I'll have to bake him some more cookies ^^
Well, I'm off to the grocery store >> I can't keep getting skinner, I can't afford to buy all those new pairs of pants. XD

No references.
Materials: EBONY pencil, HB graphite pencil, 18x24 drawing paper. Graphite power, some brush I got on sale : ) Pink Pearl and Tuff Stuff Erasers.

I think it looks exquisite. The background especially is what caught my eye.
New found appreciation on shading ever since we started doing still life What usually helps you bring texture into your work?

absolutely wonderful. I love how soft everything is, how you can see the things in the distance blurring and just how little pencil in some places makes so much. Congratulations on yet another masterpiece!
by the way, i can't tell from the photo, but do you use erasers to pull color out and make highlights alot? like some of the grass blades near her?

Nicely done... beautiful work.
Maybe you can adjust the lighting/contrast of the photo using Photoshop?

I find that taking the picture outside in bright sunlight is the best way. Florescent light makes it fuzzy.

AWesome pic! I really like how soft the shading is and the way you used value to emphasize distance or depth. Did you use a model for this pic?

Like I said last time, this definitely did blow me away. O_O It's so beautiful! And even though it may not have any colors, I can imagine the water, the grass, the color of the girl. It's amazing. I love it!

I saw this piece in its WIP stage and really looked forward to seeing the outcome, and now it looks fantastic! The lines are so smooth and it radiates such a tranquil atmosphere. It reminds me of those times when I retreat to the woods and just sit and take in the surroundings... A simply beautiful scene. Keep up the wonderful work xx

I'm glad that I didn't disappoint : ) I live in Georgia and it's nice that you can drive for a while be in the middle of nowhere ^^ and in an hour be back in a city. It's nice to feel apart of something larger than yourself sometimes, you know. Anyway, thanks very much

Ahh... I love the misty feeling that's conveyed by the trees off in the distance. This is beautiful-- the pencil work is so soft and organic (the hair, for some reason, stands out in particular... the way it lies over the shoulders is very well-drawn. *3*

I worked rather hard in making the atmosphere, getting the different hills to each be the right shade and value range. Thank you for mentioning the hair, one of my favorite parts to draw ^^
