Description Test to see if I can encode flash files... I'm trying to do some sort of tutorials this way. Now, I just gotta figure out how to encode bigger files, without having flash crash.

+Edit: made video bigger

gaaah i dont get it o_o
I try to understand your ink tutorial but im not that good in english to understand it completly.

So i try to figure out in this flash how you made this waved with the inker.

i dont get it o_o
You use the normal brush
but its wavily a bit,
not like you would just line from hand oo
like you point some place and then it associate @@
gaaah XD
with that thing the hair look so great ;_;
when i always try to make the hair it doesnt see that good because its not wavily.
I dont get how do you do this ;_;
what i have to cease that i get this waves in my lines also?
could you please explain me?
Its a bit difficut to understand the profesional english tools in ps,
cause i have a german one and they called other >__<

While this was really cool and good tutorial! I like the way you did the ending credits. This tutorial is really helpful. Although I won't be using it on the computer, I will use what I learn here, with traditional pen and ink because I don't have a digital art program.

LOL For some reason I found the random chats popping up so hilarious. e.e
This was awesome, I LOVE seeing these things. Especially from artists I love. : D It's amazing what a HUGE difference some darkening/thickening of lines can make. This made me more aware of WHERE to make lines thicker.
Confess. << Did you hold up your hand in that position and use it as reference? xD I always do that. On the train sometimes I pretend I'm stretching so people won't think I'm weird. >> << '''

Heheh, yes. the chat pop up comes from no where for the hilariousness... : D

I tried to use my hand as reference but it's the right hand and that's the hand I draw with... also, it's hard to bend my hand that way. It hurts >< But I do think the hand is too small maybe... but I'm always drawing hands the wrong size :3 BUT I totally use my hand for reference all the time. XD I make faces as I draw like if a character is mad or something... I look angry as I draw. I smile when I'm drawing a happy person. I'm a freak like that XD

omg lmao I do the same thing. xDD And since I draw Litto often, I've usually got this utterly confused look on my face when I'm drawing. xD

Awesome! I'm looking forward to some fancy tuts ^^ Written ones are great, but there's nothing like seeing something in action to learn it.

This makes me want to get a tablet even more now... I almost got one a while ago, but Wacoms cost like at least $50 more over here in Europe, so my poor budget demands I wait until I get back to the States =/

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sashas In reply to milgex [2007-05-09 01:46:35 +0000 UTC]

Yes, the final tutorials should have little side bars to pause the movie and have an explanation of what's going on if you click 'em. Though I have yet to figure it out ^^

Wacoms cost $90 here but I got mine for 80 as it was refurbished(it's cool cuz they come with basically the same warranty as the new ones)

haha you draw like me: scribble design. erase. scribble design. erase. scribble design. erase. get frustrated and go work on something else. save. XD

its neat watching you draw. I usually give up after the second sketching, but you go back adn add line depth. it looks really nice after

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sashas In reply to autumncoloredmelodie [2007-05-09 02:01:03 +0000 UTC]

I start and design a drawing then tell myself... "this crap"... start over again... rinse and repeat XD

Lol. Normally I wouldn't have gone past the sketch part either but I figures people would want to see it actually becoming something ^___^ I'm happy you like the line depth added at the end. ^^

Yeah, I know... I tried to get the video to be bigger but flash would crash whenever I used a bigger format. So I have to find a way to work around that ><

jiminy-macca In reply to sashas [2007-05-04 05:41:10 +0000 UTC]

What flash are you using?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sashas In reply to jiminy-macca [2007-05-05 01:21:56 +0000 UTC]

Flash 8 Professional. The thing is that the file is originally recorded in avi format, and converted to flash video using the Flash 8 Encoder, and then put into a swf file. When the avi file is too large the encoder crashes... so I have to figure out how to reduce the size of the file... I will have to try a different codec when recording or recording at different qualities ...

jiminy-macca In reply to sashas [2007-05-05 05:58:57 +0000 UTC]

Try using WinAVI Video Convertor to recode the video into a smaller format, thats the best idea I have at this point.

hey, sasha, how do you decide which parts to ink darker and which not to? is it depending on the light source?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

sashas In reply to KannyL [2007-05-07 03:38:50 +0000 UTC]

Mostly yes. I also ink heavily as sharp turns in a line... like the chin and the wrinkles in the hat.
