Description tl;dr
this model is merely the tip of a much larger project. I'd like some help, be it designs, full missions, dungeon layouts, or just someone willing to bounce ideas back and forth with me.

Finally have something to show for the last week of work. Megaman Trigger, in his MML3 concept art armor. I was rather disappointed when Inafune left Capcom, which despite Capcom's denials, led to the cessation of MML3 development...

But, as they've canned it yet again, probably for good, it gives me more time and free range to work on my own fan-sequel which has been simmering for the last ten years... Honestly I wasn't thrilled with N3DS as a platform for development anyway...

Also, I did this in the style of PSX games, (though I may have breached the poly budget by a smidge in some places). The textures are entirely homemade and contain less than 15+transparent colors, all save for one spot, which I outsourced, the face. The face texture will eventually be replaced, making it totally custom.

The hair was no easy task. I was sorely tempted to just use his head from the aforementioned game, but instead I created it from scratch using stills of his model in... I believe it was Tatsunoko v. Capcom(?), which some of you may notice. The spikes all line up with the ones in that model (albeit at a much lower amount of detail.)

Not pictured is the flamethrower subweapon I designed for him, though I may soon post a shot of it as well. The only reason I didn't, was to show that he does in face have hands!

In this picture (and his current state of development in my fan-script) he is roughly sixteen. This sets it about one year after MML2, which was in turn a year after 1, where he was 14. Maths are good, huh!

I'm already working on a model for Roll, which I'll try to likewise follow her new pattern from MML3's concept art.

As this is tied directly to a game/script/etc project, and I am but one person, I call out to you MML fans, show me your Reaverbot and Mecha designs! Send me your scenario and mission concepts, I would very much like to see what others are thinking in terms of their own fan-sequels; I know you have them!

That said, I in no way intend to make any profit or gain from my project other than personal fulfillment, and do not intend to distribute any materials that I have not made myself, or obtained legal rights to from content creators, barring of course content that falls under the description of "fan-art."

I will also not infringe upon the minor copyrights of the gracious people who send me their ideas, unless they allow me to use them as they are. (Barring that I forget where the idea came from, in which case I may accidentally use it, having not realized it wasn't my own idea... some of the ideas I have now are written in old books that I don't even remember writing down... If it should happen, I'm fully willing to give appropriate credit or removal of such content later.

Long story short, this model is merely the tip of a much larger project. I'd like some help, be it designs, full missions, dungeon layouts, or just someone willing to bounce ideas back and forth with me.

Don't expect to see a prototype game or written script anytime soon though, even with help, I'm not rushing the process.

It's really cool, the model looks very official xd how many polys does it have? I'd love to see a wireframe too if it ain't a problem...
I'm not sure if it's a problem on the model or the texture, but there's a small spike in the hair that gives a different shade of brown, and it looks weird. Try checking the model to see what's going on there. Other than that, it's an amazing model
And uh well, I'm interested in the project. I do 3d modelling too ,but I'm not sure if I could have some time for it. Good luck with that!

It took me a while to see the place you were talking about, but I think what you're seeing is part of his forehead.

The polycount is around 1100. I forgot the actual count, and the model contains his arms, buster gun, and flamethrower all in that same polycount, so technically it counts his forearms twice each. My Roll model is nearly complete as well, and contains about 1000 polies.

I'm not sure how far in or out of the PSX poly budget I am, but the point wasn't to make it technically accurate, but rather to make it evoke those feelings of nostalgia for PSX games, without looking like crap. For that reason, Roll has a few excess polies that were added to smooth out some of the really odd looking wonky areas... Which you'll see soon enough.

As for wireframes, yes I can do it, but... I don't feel like it right now, so I may get to that later.

I've messaged you about working as a design consultant on the project, an adjunct to my work as Lead Designer on Adrian's Project Legends. Seeing as you want to correspond with us, I feel that helping you and your folks plan things out would be altruistic and appropriate for a gentleman like me.

The model is excellent, yesβ€”and I've always loved the design that Ishihara settled on, one that was smart enough to consider how Japanese toy companies might go about merchandising Legends 3, lol. Doing it in the old Legends visual style isn't as easy as some would think, either, as these less complex models need to have more quality with less parts. One can't just let the models flourish with meaningless details, details that would obscure every important detail that needs to be seen for the design to succeed. And the art team working on Legends 3 understood that well, making some great in-game models and concept work that, unfortunately, has become somewhat for naught. I wish I could model and animate well myself.

I was just wondering, are you and the creator of these models still working on this, by any chance? I've not been able to work on anything Legends related for the past while now, but I'd really like that to change, if you and Satoh are willing to accept even a bit of my efforts here.

And as for Satoh, I'm incredibly impressed with what you've accomplished here. Are you truly planning on creating a full-fledged game?

In any case, if you need any extra possible reaverbot ideas or ideas in general about the game, if you'd like, I could send some ideas your way. I've got a couple models already in creation since the earlier stages of the Devroom Project.

Looks great! I'd be interested in helping out if you need anything like layouts or plot ideas, and maybe minor designing like reaverbots and concept art like that. And I wholeheartedly agree, I was really disappointing with the choice for N3DS as the platform, mainly because I don't own one nor have the cash-flow to purchase said device XD

Absolutely, I can use your help. What kind of layouts? Map layouts? Plot layouts? Both are useful as I am notoriously bad at city and dungeon planning.. and filling the space between my main plot ideas...

I highly enjoy doing towns, but dungeons are the best, so yeah! hahaha plot I can help with but Im not so much a story writer as I am a designer. I also wouldn't mind helping you design a few reaverbots and stuff like that should you need it, meaning I can provide concept art but not renders hahaha

Yeah, the first time I saw it I wasn't thrilled with the design, but as I looked at it more, and especially after capcom did... that event... I felt compelled to do one of the newer concepts for him in 3D, so that there would at least be some record that he existed in such a form. Of course I still have a lot of different parts I need to make for the other versions in his concept art... I may not do all of them, but some of them I really like.

Believe me when I say that this game is still being done. A lot of people were interested and we have a huge team that are currently working on the game. Any help is appreciated.
