Name: 昴宿 Măo Xiù (Pleiades/Hairy head) Pronounced: "Ma-ow-Soo"

Species: Fire/Metal Qilin

Gender: Sire (Male)

Home: Neigh-Beyul, The Far East

Occupation: Tailor

Personality and Info: Măo Xiù was always seen as special since he was born as a mixed youngling. He prefers to work in his shop, to create various garments that his sister can decorate with her jewels. He makes his needles by using the Quill-like hairs from his mane, which always keeps it short. He is very kind and polite, but tends to be timid and quiet. He is nervous around flirtatious Dames, and is easilly embarrassed by his sister when she tries to push him into interacting with Dames.
In his spare time, he likes to watch the stars at night and likes to listen to the Songs of the Seasons during festivals. He also secretly keeps a collection of plushies that his sister has forced him to collect...because she gives him one for each birthday.

Măo Xiù's design was actually inspired by one of my favorite Manga/Anime characters, Subaru from Tokyo Babylon and X1999. His name is a reference to the "Hairy Head mansion", one of the Twenty-eight mansions of the Chinese constellations. It is one of the western mansions of the White Tiger, representing the Maned Head (Hairy Head) of the tiger. This also cooresponds to the Pleiadies constellation in Taurus, which ties into Subaru, the Japanese name for the Pleiades.
He is unique, and is an extremely rare cross-genetic breeding result for a Qilin. Most younglings are born with features of only one Species, despite the many mixed pairings of parents. It is not abnormal for families to have different species younglings. It is all a game of genetics and ancestry, but for one's offspring to inherit features of both parents is once in a blue moon, if that!
He features the golden scales, patches of hair on his body and by his Ergots, Fetlocks, mustache, and the ivory horn that he inherited from his fire mother. His white fur and spine-like mane/hair and texture is inherited from his Metal Qilin father.

He has a personality like Fluttershy, but a passion for tailoring like Rarity.
