Story:
Day two’s weather was indeed miserable and Lucifer’s joints ached as he walked to the barns, umbrella in tow. He was thankful that older fancy dress for men came with wool as the standard fibre of use as it was working overtime to keep him warm. Lucifer put the umbrella down once he entered the barn, leaning the folded object near the cross-ties. Escalade huffed and shook her mane, not too enthused with the pouring rain outside. She gave a look of ‘You aren’t making me go out in that?’ as Lucifer slipped the halter on. Lucifer quietly apologized as he prayed none of her grey fur would settle itself into the fibres of his overcoat or the top-hat he was wearing. They headed out to the arena, noticing a few onlookers at the fenceline, probably curious on what type of adaptability they would display. Lucifer lead her in, tossed the leadrope onto her neck and picked up the garoche pole, resting it near his shoulders. The mare huffed and took the opportunity to dry her face and steal her rider’s top-hat from under the umbrella. While the weather was indeed miserable, Lucifer hoped they looked their best amidst the growing mud and water puddles in the arena.
