Story:
“Do you think he is ready?” Azsche asked as they watched Pollux graze in one of the guest pastures of Valkyrie Acres. “He has been doing well with breezes and his other training sessions. He has good power, strong bones and he is telling Itsuki and I, he is ready.” Jan said confidently. Azsche seemed rather concerned, he was worried about their racing debut. However, Ridgemont seemed to be a good maiden to try out with the two year old.. “How will he respond to turf though?” He asked. Jan looked at him with a deadpan. “Do you see him tear around the pasture? He flies around and seems to have a blast whenever he does. He doesn’t seem to have any traction issues or particular distaste for it.” He answered.

The flight to Australia set Azsche on pins and needles. It was his first time flying with a horse.. Well, this whole ordeal was a great deal of firsts and while the male seemed on edge, Pollux couldn’t have cared less. He alternated between naps and munching on the hay bag in his shipping stall. The colt didn’t seem to be phased by much. When they arrived at Ridgemont, Itsuki started the colt with some practice breezes, to get him accustomed to the turf, however Pollux had consistent runs and his times mirrored those on dirt back at Valkyrie Acres. They were as ready as they could be.

Race day, a groom got Pollux all spiffy for his racing debut. The stallion stood perfectly as his racing tack was fitted on and the hood was put on his head. Itsuki vaulted on and they followed the pony rider off to the gate. Pollux looked all around to the spectators and the track around him. He was excited to race, he was excited to prove himself. Itsuki guided Pollux into the gate where the colt stood patiently, however his muscles were wired and ready to go. The bell rung and the gate sprung open. The pair flew out, having a clean start. They were going to own it.
