Description
Numix is a modern flat theme with a combination of light and dark elements. It supports Gnome, Unity, XFCE and Openbox.Numix is a part of the Numix Project .
A request
If you have few bucks to spare, please consider purchasing the theme to support the project and show that you appreciate the work and time spent into making the theme.
As a bonus, you'll also get an additional Numix Dark theme with the purchase.
Installation instructions
Ubuntu users can install Numix from our PPA using the following commands,
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:numix/ppa
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install numix-gtk-theme
Arch Linux users can install Numix from the community repo
pacman -S numix-themes
Fedora and OpenSUSE users can install Numix from our build service repo .
Manual installation
Extract the zip file to the themes directory i.e. /usr/share/themes/
To set the theme in Gnome, run the following commands in Terminal,
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface gtk-theme "Numix"
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences theme "Numix"
To set the theme in Xfce, run the following commands in Terminal,
xfconf-query -c xsettings -p /Net/ThemeName -s "Numix"
xfconf-query -c xfwm4 -p /general/theme -s "Numix"

Known issues
Overlay Scrollbars cause black areas to appear at various places in Ubuntu.
To disable overlay scrollbars, run the following command,
gsettings set com.canonical.desktop.interface scrollbar-mode normal
To fix the small font issue in LibreOffice Calc sheet tabs, create a file .gtkrc-libreoffice in your home folder with the following content,
style "libreoffice-scrollbar" {
GtkScrollbar::trough-border = 3
}
widget_class "*" style "libreoffice-scrollbar"
Then launch libreoffice with the following command,
GTK2_RC_FILES=$HOME/.gtkrc-libreoffice libreoffice

you can get packages from launchpad.net/~numix/+archive/… but if you have an issue of your password not being accepted then you have bigger issues than themes.

Hello ! I really enjoy this theme, and I think i'll make a donation soon. But now I have a problem : the theme worked fine on Ubuntu Unity, but I had problems with this desktop so I've installed Gnome remix. But, i can't find the Shell theme, so all is customisez, except for the black bar with activities, notifications, etc...could you help me ? Thank's in advance

Hi Satya, I am brand new to Linux, I am using Linux Mint 17.1 with the Numix Theme and Icons. Although, I like how you have displayed the NUMIX title in ASCII format on your terminal. gnome-panel has white text on white background in gnome-session-flashback.

I think you need to use the solarize script or right click and select ur color palettes there

I think it goes the same as other distros
it go to /usr/local/share
but run file-roller or the archive manager in root
for that

I have a question about Numix on xfce.
I use the xfce panel widget "Workspace Switcher" but my problem is that the color indicator of the workspace I am currently on is so much alike the color of all the other workspaces. So I trid to change:
style "workspace-switcher" = "murrine-panel" {
bg[SELECTED] = Selected _bg_color
}
to:
style "workspace-switcher" = "murrine-panel" {
bg[SELECTED] = "#d64937"
}
But that did not change anything at all. Which value do I need to change/add to get a difirent color?
Here in this picture (upper left corner) you can se that it´s verry dificult to notice which workspace that I am on.

Hello, I have a problem with Numix Dark I bought. Because in the file Numic-Dark/gtk2.0/gtkrc, there's the "text_color:#dedede ". The problem is in some apps like Firefox, Anki, or other ones, when the text is above a white background, it's very hard to read the text!
So I tried to put the text in black, but of course, above dark-gray background apps or part of apps, you read now hardly.
I remember that in my former theme called "MediterraneanDarkest", not as beautiful as Numix Dark however, I didn't have this problem of too-clear or too-dark text colouring. Maybe you could add another text colour depending on the colour of the background parts of certain apps...
