Thanks ! It's great like that. It's just a bit sad that we can't choose which app use which theme. Like a little utility that say : hey, I want intelliJ, Sublime Text and this app to use the dark theme. Β

It's possible with GTK3 to force some apps to use dark theme. But not with GTK2

Actually it's all the Windows Wannabes that distort the reality of how the world of Linux works, because if you had been around long enough you;d of never seen anything like this 15 years ago, it was unheard of, but given the popularity of Linux over the years all the Windows noobs have been jumping on board distorting the world of Linux.
Sure like Unix says, it's not Free as in Beer it's Free as in Speech, but the simple fact is, Geeks ages going back never charged people money for stuff like this, and now when they start yelling making money, well truth is, you need a real job, not trying to get it off of making themes for Linux...

That leads me to think, did you read all those I wrote? If you think what I said is wrong, justify it.
And if you're for so long in the Linux world, tell me where does GPL prevent you from selling something?

me4oslav I'm not talking about any partizan way of thinking, I'm talking about what you COMMONLY see in Linux.
You don't believe me go out and look at the world of Linux and Theming and only a very very small percentage will ask for money for something like this.
No one is thinking like a hippy I've been around Linux since Linux started and this is a fact if you care to really go look!
Spewing BS & Fud does no one any good, I speak facts and they are very clear if you take the time to look at the LInux community of theming...

Don't take me wrong I appreciate your efforts but it's not right to charge money for themes, no one does this.
Go out and look at the world of themes and you will see that if anyone is charging for themes it's a very small percentage.
A lot of people that help and contribute to Distros don't make one penny, so this is not correct to assume that everyone working on a distro makes something.
Yes in the real world money might count, so go get a job and make real money then, you should not charge people for something like this.
Instead be considerate and SHARE in the SPIRIT of OPENSOURCE, which you've seemed to have forgotten, and then if you need a few extra pennies because of this work you ask instead for a donations!
I'm sorry but I've been a hardcore Unix/Linux geek for a very long time, and I've also contributed to Linux in situations harder then this and I never forced anyone into paying for my work, I simply asked for donations if anyone was willing.
I respect you for brining something to Linux, but you're going about it the wrong way!
CHEERS

That is typical partizan way of thinking.
Giving open source stuff for free means we (people who made it) can not make a living out of it (because guess what we need money to live), which means we have to find real life jobs and these jobs (most of them are about creating proprietary work to add up) eat our time for open source, which results in much lower quality open source work.
This way of thinking is hurting the entire open source ecosystem. We all want better open source products but that requires time and time requires money, that's how the life functions.
Now please stop thinking like a hippy, it is not helpful, life runs on money and not on fairies pixie dust.

I've lots of my stuff for free and just the dark and light variations of the GTK theme are paid. I've contributed to many Open Source projects and currently in the Artwork Team for Ubuntu GNOME and Xubuntu. So its wrong to say that I'm doing wrong.
BTW have you seen how much people charge for website templates, blog themes etc? Hundreds of dollars. So, do is their work is of that high quality or is their time that important, and mine is not? Lots of people charge for themes, might not be true for GTK themes, but no one supports as many DEs as I do either. Numix supports Gnome, Unity, Pantheon, Xfce, Openbox, and we fix bugs pretty quickly.
And do I need to say I also maintain several other themes like Evolve, Orion, GTK3 portion of Greybird, Bluebird etc.? And do it for free?
Everyone doesn't make money from OSS, but show me one large project which doesn't need money. Making something takes time, and time is money.Β One can get money from his job, but he won't have the time to contribute to the community then.Β I've seen lots of Open Source projects being abandoned due to lack of time and motivation. And that comes from the need that the developer also needs money.
Open Source is about making the code open. The term "free" in "free software" stands for freedom, not in monetary sense. I believe that the term "free" is misinterpreted. You can take the normal Numix theme, change the colors (which is pretty easy) and you have the Light theme. The code is open, in the spirit of Open Source.Β I think people need to be realistic and idealistic.
And I should say, lots of people agree with my belief. Lots of people love Numix and pay for it, and even both pay and donate. That's the love and support every open source project needs. Numix is lucky to have it.

Forgive me if I'm not seeing this correctly, but I have reloaded the page over a few times and it appears that I must make a purchase in order to
download this?
I've been around ever since deviantart has been around but I don't pay attention to what is really going on with them, this looks like some sort of rewards purchase, not real money? Either way I don't have any...
But still, what really bothers me is if I have to earn something then wait to make this payment with funny money, this is not right. WHY, because what distro do you use? I highly doubt you are paying for the distro you use and look at all the massive amount of work that went into that distro for FREE!
In almost 15 years of using Linux I've never seen anyone make them jump through hoops just to get a theme, you shouldn't being doing this, you should SHARE freely, just like the developers did that gave you a distro to use!

We work hard on the theme and try to support lots of stuff in it. I think it's worth the few bucks I ask for. It's $3 only.
It's true that devs provide the distro for free. But they get paid by some company (red hat/canonical, get fundings or donations). Without any return, its impossible to devote so much time for something. Yeah, I would like to have all of these for free, but still, in the real world, money matters, and time is money. We are a 3 people team. And to provide quality work, we need some motivation, right?
There is always the normal version of Numix which is totally free -Β fav.me/d5ygul6
You can take the normal theme for a spin and test the quality and tell if its not worth the few bucks. It is not limited in any of the things, just has a darker style.
Also, our icon theme is also free. You can try it too. You can also join our community on G+ to see how much the community loves us and support our idea. Lots of people buy and donate to us. And that's a good thing

Some questions:
- I use XFCE and Thunar doesn't show the "umount" icon when I connect some USB storage
- Also in Thunar, the navigations buttons doesn't look nice like Nautilus, is there a way fix this? i.imgur.com/RiV4Vs5.png

Thank you
Does the unmount icon appear with other themes? From what I remember, it doesn't.
I cannot do anything about the Thunar buttons. I just use the location entry instead of path bar. At least it looks nicer.

Thank you for this. I bought the Numix Light theme from App Center on Elementary OS and it looks fantastic but it's unusable. It makes everything light (which is good) but it also makes the TEXT light, which is bad, because now I can't see any text on my screen at all unless I revert back to default elementary theme.
Can you provide a fix for this please? I really wanna use your theme it's beautiful! Or, where in the theme files do you set foreground text for all windows and panels and contols, etc??? I want to change it from white text on white background to black text on white background
