Artist's Notes: It's been a while since I uploaded a personal work. Through my recent stint of watching various stop motion projects and films, I learned that today, June 29th 2021, would be the 101st birthday of the late stop motion master, Ray Harryhausen. I wanted to make something commemorating the event and celebrating an artist that inspired me and countless others, so I took the opportunity to draw two of my favorite dinosaurs, Triceratops and Ceratosaurus. In the film One Million Years BC Harryhausen animated a fight between these two dinosaurs while the human characters cowered at their feet. What made Harryhausen's works so memorable and unique was not only his love for both mythology and prehistory or the personality he gave each of his creations but his dedication to one of the most tedious and time consuming crafts. Although modern special effects may look more convincing, I find that most of them lack that sense of passion and artstyle that came with practical effects, and they tend to become dated very quickly.
