Name: Slumbug

Type: Bug

Name Origin: Slumber + Bug

Inspiration: Tardigrades (water bears), hibernation, stuffed animals

I've always been fascinated by tardigrades and their incredible resilience ever since I first heard about them. The secret behind their ability to survive such extreme condtions is cryptobiosis, a kind of hibernation in which all bodily functions come to a near stop until conditions are favorable again. Keeping this and the water bear nickname in mind, I designed this creature around the idea of hibernation. In combat it would use Rest to heal itself and have some kind of ability that raises its already high defensive stats while asleep. In this state it could attack with moves like Snore and Sleep Talk. It would probably also learn moves like that put the opponent to sleep like Yawn and moves that absorb health like Leech Life.
