stupidly...a couple years ago i'd argue that chiggers DON'T bite? then i fell asleep in my yard.........i'll never quote ignorance again if i can help it...lol

hehe...i've YET to get bitten by one.......all those times as a kid and i had those tiny red bumps after playing in the grass....was always told i had chiggers under my skin. hardly! try straw mites! aaaahhhhh ..now THOSE! are evil!

i've learned with mosquitos...no bannanas...........no dark clothes........they love both! but the skin so soft helps with other itchy critters...

i must be too then. ~sigh~ last summer we were SWARMED! they'd get in my ears..eyes...everywhere! i'd go mushroom picture hunting with a bandana wrapped around my face/head/neck....then 'Deepwoods Off' myself to death....

That's exactly how I end up when I'm mushroom picture hunting!!

My hubby bought me a hat with netting on it-it looks totally stupid but does the trick for my face and neck anyway.

i'm almost 'arka'd' up...from neck up i look like i should be in snow instead of heat...lol
that hat sounds like a good idea.......i felt kinda 'tarded last summer when i had wiped mud on my face/arms/neck to keep them from getting me but i wasn't ABOUT to miss the mushrooms.........annnnnnd of course a very cute naturalist found me out in the middle of all that....Meet Mrs.Sasquach.....lol
