Description
The vibrant orangey/red Cinnabar-red Polypore (Pycnoporus cinnabarinus). One of the hardest darn fungi for my camera to catch due to the vibrancy of the color. I often have to take a whole series of shots in order to get one...and even then THAT one may not come out.><><><
Don't you all hate the watermarks? Too bad people STILL upload my work without permision eh?

I hate when i beautiful mushroom is so vibrant a color that it washes out the detail in a low light setting. then you got to use the gawd awful flash and ruin the magic of mushrooms

I'm looking for new ways to catch the details....carrying a couple hunks of tin foil folded up with clips to hang up and around to capture light helps...or to take away some of the light i also have a few scarves of different colors that i'm collecting to help either tone the lighting...or to just block some out

Thats a really good idea, i might try the tinfoil thing, most of the areas i find mushrooms in locally have very little light (Damn overly dense forests

i'm fairly lucky in that we're 'new' forest here? but...i say that then all the mushrooms i find from now on will be UNDER things instead...lol

Beautiful...and I know the feeling -- my camera has a really hard time with bright yellow objects.
