Thanks a lot for leading me in the direction of your tutorial. I'm sure I'll use this effect a lot. Here's my stab at the effect. [link]

heheh where did that come from LOL ah just try the tutorial and do it exactly the same way I have it and don't do any land, maybe add 200m of water and go from there! It will work. Make sure you do everything thing. Double check after you think you are finished. I am to the point of just running through and fixing the numbers to the similar ones on the Tut. and getting everything all entered in and then I render it and walla easy breezy rays its that easy. If it still doesn't work I will try and walk you through it!

I actually used it twice....it's really great for creating the basic effeect, but the clouds definitely have to be darkened to bring out the full effect.

I hate to disagreed with you on the cloud part but its reccomened:
3D clouds are way better than 2D beacuse they add more lighting to the terrain and sky itself. It also add a better effect than the usual.
Overall, good tutorials for begginers.

Thanks man. I have tried 3d clouds on it and all it did was blur it and I have tried it several times. I have seen other tutorials aswell that have said that you should not use 3d. But I have seen that yes you should so I guess it different for each person. The best thing to do is just mess around with it! I will keep on trying 3d when I render.. THANKS
