your suggestion on not using color wheel is a bit confusing? In your perspective tell us why we should not use the color wheel?

Thanks so much for making this tutorial video! I just started digital art not so long and colouring was a big struggle to me. Every time the line art looks fine but when I tried to colour it the work looked dull and dead. After watched the video on Youtube I finally found out what was went wrong on my art.And it's interesting to see how the way of shading and colouring can affect the drawing...
Still a lot need to practise on SAI

Haha it's the opposite for me - I can't figure out lineart for the life of me, but I would say I'm alright with coloring for a beginner. Either way, the video helped.

I thought I´d start using airbrush for shading, but after seeing the video I decided to just stick with good ol´ brush
Great art!

thanks for this 'speedy' masterclass.
I find it very interesting. Only using your brush settings already improves my used brush settings
And now it's time to watch -slowly- coloring2 again.

Haha, I actually saw this pop up on youtube before here on dA. I haven't watched it yet but yeees, my colouring improved so much when I figured out the colour wheel stuff.
I like that you also changed your colour choices to show how much more alive something can look. And just look at how much more right the skin looks

FUCKING PRAISE YOU. Shading can make all the difference in a piece of art, a lot of the times it can decide whether your art is professional or not.
(Also damn your skirt work is ON POINT.)

Oh thank you so much!!! I really does! The line-arts are the same and see what a different coloring can do! ^^ Some beginner artists really have their line-art skills down, but they lack the knowledge about coloring ( while the line-art is stunning) They paint what they think they see. Of course I made the same mistakes, that is why I am sharing this! I also used black and white and "a green, darker green, darkerdarker green" for example, because I thought picking different hues would look wrong. While in reality that makes a drawing stand out and fun and more pleasing to the eye. Thanks again for your comment!
