Description Scrin: A race of terrifying invaders, the Scrin roam the universe, seeding planets with their most coveted element: Tiberium. When it had reached peak potency, the Scrin return to reclaim it. But woe be it for any creature that dares to survive the Tiberium, or try to keep it from the Scrin. Then the Scrin will bring forth a myriad of genetically engineered monsters, massive war machines, and unbelievable storms to shake the planet. Guided by the Foremen, the Scrin are ruthlessly efficient, tearing the world apart stone by stone until the last shard of Tiberium is once again in their possession.

Tyranids: The mentality of the Tyranid approach to warfare can be described with the phrase "quantity has a quality all its own". Like a foul cancer, these creatures travel the stars eating away at worlds and destroying planets; seeking only there own propagation and evolutionary advancement. Constantly changing, adapting, and growing, the Tyranids have defied those that would hope to halt their advancement to consume all life. Driven by the great hunger, these star locusts will not stop until all universes have been made one in the Great Devourer.

Now these horrors from beyond the stars will be visiting a very unfortunate world, ready to fight for the biggest piece of the pie. The Tyranids consume all in their path, while the Scrin season worlds with poisonous Tiberium seeds, then kill all between them and their radioactive prize. Biological horrors will face genetically engineered monsters, and terrifying war machines open fire on living artillery. Monsters on both sides will crush their opponents in the hundreds, while the skies darken with ion storms and Tyranid swarmers. Only time will tell which side will take control and devour the opposition, but only one can claim the planetary prize, as well as answer the ultimate question of...

WHO! IS! DEADLIEST!

*(Because I know this will pop up if I say nothing: No space battles. Planet-side only.)

both are very powerful, the real question here is whether or not the tyranids can adapt to utilize tiberium (or ichor as the scrin call it), or if it kills and mutates them. Tiberium infused tyranids would be absolutely terrifying.

Ion storms would be incredibly devastating to tyranid air forces, and buzzers would decimate infantry. Scrin can manipulate dimensions, create wormholes and rifts into outer space. Tyranids have overwhelming amounts of bodies to throw into the mix.

Im going to give this to the scrin(assuming tyranids cant utilize tiberium), mainly because what we have seen from them in CnC was merely a mining fleet. Their actual military strength is unclear, and probably much greater.

Unfortunately, I cannot go on a massive rant or write a truly huge wall of text about this battle, as I know practically nothing of the Scrin. What a pity.

But, I am fairly certain that the Tyranids could EVENTUALLY become immune to the tiberium (as in a wave or three), as they have been proven to adapt extremely quickly to such things. For example, the nids once fought chaos demons, and in the current codex it states that even as the plague god Nurgle's minions released his most horrible plagues upon them, the Tyranids adapted in minuets and became immune. So if the nids can out-adapt eternal plagues from a god of plagues, I'm fairly sure they could somehow become resistant to this tiberium. Of course, one can only assume.
Also, some nids already utilise a strange power-crystal/mineral substance within their weapons that constantly produce a life-leaching effect, instantly killing anything that they are used to wound. And the use of said crystals are not that rare, as they are used in the weaponry of tyranid warriors as well as larger creatures. If the nids can utilise life-leaching crystals that kill whatever they touch (sort of) then it may be possible for them to use tiberium. Or maybe not. I'm not completely sure on that one.

Forces wise, the Tyranids do indeed have huge numbers, but if the population in this battle is limited, the hive mind will just change tactics and fight more conservatively, doing its best to reduce casualties. Once again in their codex it mentions of a battle where the nids where actually horribly outnumbered. So, the hive mind just used stealth, hit-and-run tactics, and all manner of clever tricks until it built up a decent force and went on a strike at the enemy leader. It had been monitoring and learning enemy tactics all this time, and so easily predicted the enemies' reaction, and thus was able to eliminate them easily. Of course, I do not know how the Scrin operate, so this may prove less effective against them, but it still shows that the Tyranids do not have to always rely upon numbers to defeat their opponents, which is what many people who discuss these battles seem to forget.

Finally, the nids do have some very powerful units, such as bio-titans and the like, which can easily slice through the best of armour in the 40k-verse, and as such would also prove extremely effective against anything not of such, titanic strength. Once again, I do not know whether the Scrin has anything of this proportion, but if they do not, then the Tyranids would have a significant advantage in this area.

While the Scrin, as you say, can manipulate dimensions and such, the Tyranids have already defeated an extremely powerful force of Chaos demons (to mention just one example) who utilised similar tactics/powers. Horrible warp-storms covered  most of the planet, killing anything air-born and reality itself began to collapse. The nids where still victorious, however, and sent the demons packing.

There, my rant is over. Phew. Once again, I know nothing of the Scrin, so cannot truly say who will win, but can simply support the side who I know about. They might have counters for everything I have mentioned, but I do not know of them. Have a nice day all.

You forgot to mention, that Tyranid weapons are extremly Corossive.

True, true. Weapons such as venom cannons fire shards of crystallised toxins with such force that the punch through tanks and anything more lightly armoured with ease, and the toxins just destroy infantry in a small explosion of flesh-melting goodness. Then they have plasma weaponry (organically produced, of course), hyper-deadly spores that slowly dissolve anything non-tyranid (even clogging up engines and such, I think), physic blasts that disintegrates armour, and so on. The bulk of their smaller weapons fire small living worms or ticks that burrow into the enemy and eat them from the inside out, and some fire living bombs that can easily destroy fortifications and if they miss just land safely and move towards the nearest enemy.

So yeah, extremely corrosive weapons.

Tib-War 3 Tiberium acts sort of like a horrific cross between a plant, a mineral, and an extremely adaptive parasite. if the crystal gets a hold of you, you're dead because it would literally use your body as a plant pot, and that disregarding it's 'Dislike' of carbon-based lifeforms, breaking them down and turning it into more Tiberium.

And that's if you're lucky, there's also the possibility of a complete cellar breakdown of the victim, turning into a mindless Visceroid, a blob of 'stuff' that can disintegrate and object on contact. I might not be an expert on the Nids but I think maybe two or three fully kitted out Eradicator Hexapods could take down a Bio-Titan.
