Alright
so I have a lot to say
Yes, I have done something like this in the past, but I didn't go into too much depth & she's changed since then

Before we get into how she's changed let me just say something
Lila was very first OC that went further than just a design on a piece of paper
She was the first character I've ever given thought to
She's the first character I've ever rped with
She's the first character I ever felt connected to
She's the first character I've ever fell in love with
I've had her for so long, so it's safe to say that
She's my child in a way, she's dear to me, the only OC that I've been so attached to
So when someone would say she's this or she's that in such a negative way, it felt like someone was insulting my child, so I got defensive
Is that an excuse for the way I've acted in the past, and a way to say the way I reacted was okay? No.
I'm just saying, that when someone insulted her, they insulted my baby, and insulted me in a way since Lila is practically a piece of me in a way.
Not in a self insert way, but I've watched her grow as a character and popularity. I feel like I've actually seen one of my children grow up into something successful. So I got defensive in the past, I've learned to take criticism, and I've learned that it's impossible to please everyone.
But think about it the next time you critique someone's character, you're critiquing the creators children, and possibly a part of the creator.
