Added 11/9/09EDIT-Fiddled with the background a bit, and Togeras fireballs-hopefully it looks a little better.
See my misguided attempt at a background!
This is my half of a trade with , a battle between Togera and Raptros from War of the Monsters, taking place in Century Airfield.
I hope the background doesn't completely ruin it. XD

Lordy, I remember playing this fight as Togera, boy was that a frustrating fight! Two (or was it Three?) flying monsters against one slow monster with a mediocre special gets on your nerves
That being said, this pic brings back loads of nostalgia from the level, and I agree with TT on the whole Togera's "phew, phew" fireball noise being heard here, which means this pic wins instanly with me.

As did I, playing through as Togera was hard, I thought it would be easy as I beat Congar incredibly easyily(Crushed!) But oh, that changed when I had to fight Togera AND Robo 47 xD (Dont Even get me started on the boss fights[Except for Vegon, He was easy])

I can only advise that you read a few dozen background tutorials and a lot of books. That's how I managed to finally make decent backgrounds...

Anyway...I love this game and I love these monsters. And its the same old great artwork you always do. And the background isnt that bad. Its better than what I can do.

This was so cool, it made me want to reenact the scene.
Only with green Raptros, cause he's cooler.
The buildings could use some straighter lines. There's some tools in photoshop or, if worst comes to worst, MS paint that can easily fix that.
I particularly love how Togera looks. He feels like the melee expert he is. And he looks pretty distinct at that.
Raptros' wings are a bit on the small side, but beyond that, he looks pretty kickass as well. Props for remembering the two-toes.
For the shading, I recommend harder shading for the buildings. Soft shading can work for living things or curved surfaces, but it should be harder with buildings.
I'd also recommend going over the skyline with several much closer strokes with the airbrush on a low opacity. It looks really smooth, and it's extremely easy.
Aside from those technical issues, I think it's a great breath of cinematic life into what was once confined to its own video game format.

Yeah, I can see what you mean ton the buildings. That;s something I need more practice on. The sunset could be better, too, if I could use layers. My comp woun't save the pic if I use them for some reason.
I'll try to go back and clean up what I can, though. Thanks for the suggestions!
