this is so lovely ^^
for some reason this reminds me of my violin teacher.
when u start a piece, do you use lots of references, or have someone u know and sketch them? i always seem to have an artist's block and have difficulty finding ideas.

Thanks.
My problem is opposite, I have too many ideas and I can't sort them out or I don't have enough experience to put them on paper (or screen).
I know few people who have artistic block sometimes. You might try when you got an idea to note it somewhere and (or) sketch it quickly (just basics).
This painting is from the photo, a stock image here from DA. Sometimes I draw people I know, but that is almost always on paper. Until recently I didn't use reference and I think that was wrong because I'm not good with anatomy yet.
I think the great way to learn to draw is by using DA stock images, just be sure to follow stock rules. Decide what you want to accomplish and start learning.

This is really very interesting to see! I wish more talented artists like yourself would show the bare roots of their work. We can all learn a lot from the way you work to improve our own techniques and to better understand how much effort you put into every piece.
I've definitely learned something, thank you so much!
