Concepts for what is hopefully a comic in the works.No super-fantastic plot or anything, just a relatively quiet story about two high schoolers.
The dude (as of yet unnamed-- I want him to have a really boring white guy name, though. I wanted Phil but I know two Phils, one of whom is a furry and the other who is my ex-boyfriend, so I can't use it... maybe Mike, I dunno, gimme suggestions) is a furry. An angsty, misunderstood, semimisanthropic, hyperawkward furry. The yellow raccoon (who is up for revamping-- I think I might tone him down to brown and ultra-boring, and make him look more like his creator) is his alter-ego, lulz.
The lower character is his internet gal pal, who is also unnamed.
So, like, I am/was really torn between making the characters garish and horribly drawn (which would be realistic but compromise my own drawings to accomplish, haha) or actually designing something I won't want to barf when I draw. Anyway, so they're both furry artists who know each other through the internet. OKAY SO I KNOW IT SOUNDS BORING, but hell, I've never heard of anyone having a character who is, well, a furry (but not furry. You know?) Anyway, so yeah, I'm playing with ideas. I'm pretty sure that the dude's design is pretty much final, and I like how the girl's kitty alterego turned out, but everything else is still up for serious altercations.
C&C on designs and ideas always always welcome!!
Also, this may be scrapped later.

lol for some reason this reminds me of what i call "coffee shop art" ^.^;; it looks like something that you would find in a kool hole in the wall cafe, its got nice blended and soft colors, not jaggedy and sharp, and all around nice to look at while drinking so joe

You should give them ridiculously obscure names.
And if you drew them horribly, it might be a bit more accurate, but if some people were to see this they might be offended.

Haha, yeah, in the months since starting the ideas, I've lost interest, simply because they aren't interesting enough; they aren't caricature enough. I was never out to offend, though, so I may just drop it (it's, to say the least, an idea on hiatus). Thanks though!

I adore this. No joke. I mean, I love unnamed guy's facial expression. I also love the nameless girl's outfit. It's all very cute. I'm not usually into furry stuff, but the idea is really cute and I like seeing into uh, how should I say it... different lifestyles? Very neat.

Josh is a pretty typical boring white guy name
These characters are super cute. I love the girl with the cat ear hat, it's sort of like she wants to be a furry like her friends so she compensates with fashion :3

I think this is a really cute idea. I've seen plenty of furry comics, but not a whole lot of comics about "real life" furries. I'd read it.

I'm really interested to see where you take this concept. I really like the character designs~ The girl's is probably my favorite because of the nose XD I know that sounds dumb but... dammit, there aren't enough big-nosed heroines in the world? ;D
I dunno, a yellow raccoon might be amusing. Depends on what sort of "furry" he is I suppose. Furries that aren't artists often have really odd character design elements sometimes...

i like the guy's slouch! i think the toning down of the racoon's a good idea, i thought he was a fox with inexplicably round black ears at first. or, you might just want to make him a little more 'raccoony', round his tail out, make his cheek furs pointy and such. also, you could look at how the coloring on raccoons' eyes is, you don't have to do black and white, but there's two definite values there.

That sounds like it would be a really interesting story, I would definately read the comic.
As for the guy, I think he looks like a Joe. That's just my impression. I'm sure someone else has said that before me, though. xD
